SHAWNEE, Okla. – High school students passionate about the arts are invited to Mosaic: A Festival for the Arts on Tuesday, April 8, at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU). Sponsored by the Warren M. Angell School of Visual and Performing Arts, the event offers an exciting, hands-on dive into music, film, theatre, social media, public relations, and visual arts – all packed into one dynamic day.
Designed for students in grades 10–12, Mosaic mixes education with exploration, allowing participants to sharpen their skills and discover new ones through interactive workshops led by OBU faculty and industry professionals. Whether you’re drawn to the stage, the camera, or the sketchpad, this event offers a glimpse into the creative opportunities that could shape your future.
A Day of Art, Expression, and Discovery
The festival kicks off with check-in from 9 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a brief opening session to set the tone for the day. From there, students will jump into two back-to-back workshops in their selected areas of interest. Instead of picking sessions on the spot, participants will be pre-assigned based on the preferences they express during registration. This ensures everyone gets the chance to dive deeper into the areas they’re most eager to explore.
Throughout the morning, students will get to roll up their sleeves and try their hand at various forms of artistic expression.
