Debate team member wins Junior Varsity champion

The OBU Debate team competed at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Ark. over the weekend.

They brought home a junior varsity division championship.

Freshman Carson Kroenke was the junior varsity Champion. He competed in 18 total debate rounds Friday through Sunday. Kroenke and his team partner, freshman Mitch Sadler, also placed as semi-finalist in team debate.

Freshman Canyon McGee was a semifinalist in the novice division and fourth speaker overall. Junior Joy Rhodes was also a semi-finalist in the novice division, and Sadler was fifth speaker in the novice division.

The team will next compete at the University of Central Arkansas March 8-10
