As the school year began again, the school held an election for the freshman class president and vice president. These individuals are now a part of the Student Government Association, who together represent all students on campus. Their goal is to improve life on campus and advocate for student needs and wants throughout OBU.

In the running for president were Bradley Jager and his vice president Maci McCall, and Chloe Dent and her vice president Talan Nugyen.

The Student Government Association leads the student body through many aspects of life here on campus; they listen to student concerns, write legislation and host events. They are a valuable asset in the community and positively impact campus in many ways.

In September, OBU announced winners for freshman president, vice president and senator positions. The new freshman class president and vice president are Bradley Jager and Maci McCall. Together they represent the class of 2024.

Jager, from Poteau, Oklahoma, is a journalism major with a media emphasis. He has three years of prior experience with student government, making him a prime candidate.

“As president, I plan to work for all students and be an active member of SGA to better Oklahoma Baptist,” Jager said. “My immediate goal is to pass legislation in SGA to call for the creation of a GaGa ball pit here on OBU’s campus. We all know the GaGa ball is a staple of the American Baptist Church and a huge source of community and memories. I knew I was a good fit for this position because of my extensive experience in student government. I have a passion for helping people and creating change, and I knew I could do the best job at it. I’m honored to be elected for this position, time for GaGa ball.”

The two newly elected plan to continue making this the best community it can be while simultaneously building the student body through God.
