Every year, spring break is a greatly-anticipated time away from the stress of school. It’s a week to spend on hobbies, binging TV, reading fun books, and spending time with family. Here are stories of how some OBU students spent their spring break this year.

Freshman Education major Chesney Long “spent time with family and friends back home, watched my brother play baseball, and did some volunteering.”

Freshman Family Science major Dylanne Nelson said that over Spring Break she “went to New Orleans or NOLA, and ate some amazing food, and read Harry Potter, and got car sick multiple times.”

Junior Communications major Abby Ettinger said she and “[her friends] rented an Airbnb in Bella Vista, Arkansas for the week. [They] watched movies, played games, went on hikes, and laughed together all week. It was [her]first spring break trip, and [she] had a lot of fun.”

Senior Psychology Pre-counseling major Liberty DeGeorge said she and her “roommates, Isabela Gonzalez and Hope Mccendree, went up to Colorado to stay with [her] aunt in Denver. [They] hiked in Georgetown, Colorado Springs, thrifted in Denver, shopped in bookstores, and ate lots of good food including pho.”

Freshman Education major Isabel Isaac “went to the zoo, saw Kung Fu Panda 4, and went to Trader Joe’s.”

Freshman Education major Faith Heslip “went home and saw [her] family. It was a great time to relax and enjoy the time with them.”

Freshman Nursing major Katelyn Easterwood “got to spend lots of good time with [her] family. [They] got to go hiking, play tennis, and go on lots of family walks.”
