Women’s Volleyball — The Lady Bison won the first two sets with ease and grace this last Thursday on October 26th. What followed from the visiting Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers made our girls and even coach Anna Howle fight for our 15th win of this season alone. After a long and grueling 2-hour match, the Lady Bison finally won 3-1. Senior Jenna West secured her most kills ever in her entire career with an astounding 16 kills. She also tied her career best in digs with 15 on the night. Jill Leslie added another 12 kills on top of Jenna’s, a .345 attack percentage, two solo blocks and three block assists, working hard defensively and
offensively. Freshman Lauren Safrit added 11 kills and seven digs to the team. Emily Boyer also put together a career night putting up a career-high 27 assists and adding 11 digs. Libero Maci Langford dialed up a crazy 18 digs while Kaelyn Ina added 10 more to the team’s total.
Women’s Soccer — Your very own Lady Bison Soccer team is slowly but surely inching closer to the top of the Great American Conference standings following its 3-1 win at Harding on Wednesday, October 25th. Paired with a tie between Southern Nazarene and Ouachita, the Bison sit in second place and are just two points behind Ouachita, the Lady Bison have also already clinched a spot in our conference’s playoffs. This coming Saturday, our ladies in green and gold will face off with our 2-point rivals, Ouachita, in Arkadelphia. Olivia Kenas took only one shot, and it’s all she needed and ended up resulting in her second goal of the 2023 season. Jadynn Daggs also added a goal, her first of the entire year. Alanna Bloomingdale scored the team’s third goal of the game. She has four this fall alone. Annabelle Joski shot a team-high four times but never connected. Sophia Ziesemer continued her strong recent play that she
has been having by providing an assist on the night. Kaylee Swaner added another assist as well moving her career point total to 40. Only five Bison have ever reached that mark in history.
Women’s Golf — The Oklahoma Baptist women’s golf team claimed an eighth-place finish at Rogers State’s Tulsa Cup after three rounds of golf in Broken Arrow on October 24th of last week. On Monday, the Bison posted scores of 310 and 306 to open tournament play. The individual scores and performances from our ladies in the green and gold were also very impressive from this tournament, starting with Morgan Becker firing 8-over-par to place 12th out of 102 participants. Through the opening 18 holes, Becker shot two strokes over par, recording rounds of 74 and 72 before wrapping up her tour.
