“What I’ve taken away from this event is the ability to listen instead of responding so quickly without letting the person speaking finish. By doing so, I’ve gotten two sides of the story ( black & white) which has given me insight on how a person of a different back ground perceive me. This event was helpful because it shed light to what I have thought but it was only confirmed. In order for change to occur, we have to hear each other out and that was only the first step and I feel as if it was effective. There was no hostility and all ears were open and gave respect to those who spoke.” – Carlos James
