Last weekend’s storms blew through Shawnee with fiercely cold and strong winds, and some students expressed concern when the newly-planted survivor tree seemed to have gone mission.

Confirmed by head gardener, Lisa Hair, the Survivor Tree Seedling was uprooted and placed back in its pot for safety.

Multiple storms threatened the newly planted seedling so it was removed. It will be replanted late-May early-June.

It is temporarily in its pot but in the ground. That way it can be removed to safety without disturbing its root system.
