Lady Bison finishes season with program records

OBU women’s lacross team finalized the season with a 2-7 record in the RMAC and 4-10 overall record.

Oklahoma Baptist women’s lacrosse team finished its participation in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 26-3 loss in hands of rival Lindenwood University.

No. 2 Lindenwood scored 13 goals in the initial period letting the Lady Bison to find the end of the net once by senior Hannah Dowell who set a program record with a total of 86 goals in four years.

“It is exciting to see how far I have come as an individual player,” Dowell said. “It shows me that the dedication and commitment I put into lacrosse added up.”

The second goal for OBU came thanks to Dowell in the second half. While Lindenwood added another 13 goals to the score, junior Alexis Martin contributed a final and third goal for the Lady Bison.

Freshman Lauren McCormack set a single- season program record with seven draw control.

Meanwhile freshman goalkeeper Courtney Barnickle had 12 saves during this match to register a total of 103 and a record for a single season.

“By breaking a record it show that my hard work is paying off,” Barnickle said.

“It pushes me to wanting to achieve more in the future. I want to continue to do the best for my team,” she said.

The Lady Bison finalized the campaign with a 2-7 record in the RMAC and 4-10 overall numbers.

Eight seniors defended the colors of OBU for the last time against Lindenwood such as Paige Morrison, Dowell, Jamie Jefferson, Suzie Wisham, Emily Gilbert, Caity Cullison, Morgan Urick and Sarah Anderson.
